The Public Institution for the management of protected parts of nature and the ecological network of Virovitica-Podravina County (JU VP) celebrated International Drava Day 2024 on 22 September with an engaging community event. Participants learned about the LIFE RESTORE for MDD project and local protected areas, while experiencing the biodiversity of the Drava River from canoes. The Croatian Mountain Rescue Service demonstrated search and rescue operations with their trained dogs along the riverbank. The highlight was an eight kilometre canoe trip from Sopje to the Noskovci community.

The day ended at the Drava Story Visitor Centre, which promotes appreciation of this vital waterway.
